There are a number of methods by which a rifle can be dated, or at least bracketed between certain years of manufacture. For the latter, dates of introduction of military arms can be located within the Government “List of Changes” LoCs as can dates of obsolescence and of modification or upgrade to later marks. You may not necessarily find specific date information within the text of particular pages, but often the images of advertisements or catalogue entries contain some dating ‘give-away’, such as the year in which a particular rifle achieved a notable competition score by someone, but which data is in graphic format and therefore not “searchable” by a text search engine.
Do not briefly glance over a page and assume that the information you require is not there. It may not be immediately obvious, but careful observation may provide you with the information for which you are looking. Such research is a major part of the joy of owning, collecting and shooting classic or historic rifles. Anschutz target rifles fall into this category, and their system is given on the page for these rifles.
Quite apart from such dating information as we have been able to provide on many of the individual rifle types included on this website, there are other ways in which you may be able to confirm the date of manufacture, or at least the date of proof, of your rifle.
What is an exclusivity agreement? A preliminary agreement which parties can enter into at the beginning of negotiations. What is a non-disclosure agreement? This is a legal contract between two or more parties that signifies a confidential relationship exists between the parties involved. The consortium would have signed one of these to help protect their identity. So how long does a takeover normally take once it has reached this stage?

Gun Barrel Proof Marks Markings on gun barrels and other gun components that indicate the level of pressure, calibre and standards that a weapon is fit for in service. The drawings vary in style due to differences in the original information. Most are black silhouettes, but some of those that have been produced from photographs have a quasi 3 dimensional appearance that requires the onlooker to imagine that the light source is in the top left hand corner of the screen.
De bossed or panelled marks show the depression in grey, with the original metal surface shown white or transparent if shown against a grid. The proof certificate is in Spanish, but the dimensions and tolerances are recognisable. Where possible the drawings will be presented against a gridded background as shown at right.
The red squares in the grid represent two millimetres, but the images themselves may not be to an exact scale, mainly because the depth to which the marks are punched and the angle at which the punch was held when it was struck will also affect the size and shape of the mark. I have tried to be consistent in the application of this grid as a background to the individual marks, so that sensible comparisons may be made.
There is a further complication in that punches of different sizes are used according to the size of weapon and so you may have marks that do not agree with the measurements as displayed here.

That figure may soon be 21 after the Sunday Mercury was contacted by the new Lord of Little Barr, Birmingham — a nobleman with the distinct feeling that he has been nobbled.
We have scoured maps and cannot find the place. Birmingham expert Michael Baxendale, of Newhall Solicitors, is at the vanguard of the battle to stem the tide of tatty titles. He has gained out-of-court settlements for a number of clients whose dreams of being barons turned out to be barren. Weston Park was held by the family until
Dear Twitpic Community – thank you for all the wonderful photos you have taken over the years. We have now placed Twitpic in an archived state.
Note that although the year codes start with A, that by itself is not evidence that these codes were actually in use by Actual observed marks on actual observed guns suggests that the year code system was not in universal use that early. So, just when did the Eibar proof house switch from the older stamps to the newer ones? It looks like the big year was Guns proofed in might have either the older or newer stamps.
Of course dating the older stamps can be an exercise, as they don’t have a date code. Other information such as the serial number of the gun must be used to estimate the manufacture date, which puts limits on the proofing date. Obviously, errors are possible. But so far, is my best guess for the transition date. Everything above is general for Spanish handguns, and applies to Beistegui Hermanos guns as well as Unceta.
Now for photos of actual specimens. I have blown up most of the photos so that they’re of uniform scale. The penalty for that is that some of them get fuzzy. But since all we’re interested in is proof marks, the fuzziness of other features isn’t a huge drawback.

The blade is that of a Russian M , mated to a socket that is dimensionally identical to those used with the British Martini-Henry rifle. The cut from severing the M bayonet elbow results in a distinctive shield-like ricasso when the M blade is welded to the new socket. The blade bears the Ishevsk Arsenal bow-and-arrow trademark, indicating that it was manufactured prior to It also has the characteristic screwdriver point.
The socket length is 3. This example has an odd shape to the inside of the bridge, as if the rifle’s front sight was off-center, while the outside of the bridge is symmetrical so is not merely damaged or bent.
