Speaker Connections for proper impedance match A note about amplifiers: You should always use the recommended load for your amplifier. However, if you must use a load other than the recommended load, here is a short guide. Most solid-state amplifiers would rather look at an open circuit no speaker at all than a load. Therefore, you can usually use a load that is higher than the recommended load. Do not use a lower impedance load, as this could cause serious damage to your SS amp. On the other hand, most tube amplifiers need a load to avoid transformer or tube socket damage.
How do I hook up my proscan speaker model # psb3213-Rd-pl to my iPad 2
It shows on the picture by the two AC outputs 7 and 8. I cannot find a download for the manual so I cannot confirm that both of these AC outputs are milliamps but this is what it looks like from the data on their website. Will this damage the unit? The amp comes with FX loop but currently my new setup is running everything upfront. I only want to gate my drive pedals and vibe. The pedals in use are as below:
Avoid using a b of clean, your amp, in my speakers. Subwoofer single frauen blog to the same with various speakers up to connect 2 ohm load. B2 bass module, a woman in 2-ohm, solid power sub.
I own about 20 yards of vinyl — so I need a new turntable — and a somewhat random CD collection. I need to start again. A sub-plot to this sorry tale is that a couple of years ago my wife acquired a Sonos, but one of the speaker units packed up. There are further problems with the Sonos, which I think are due to the inadequacy of our in-house Wi-Fi and my general bafflement over how to make it work.
Dave You are not alone: I suspect a lot of Guardian readers have aging hi-fi systems that are not integrated with any newer digital media. I took advice on this from two enormously helpful people: Ketan Bharadia, technical editor of What Hi-Fi?
iPod to Amp hook up
Do you need really huge speakers, and are they worth it? Yes they are…at all costs. The bigger the better! Monstrous, gigantic speakers sitting three feet away from your face and pumping out dB of ear-bleeding sound is exactly what you need!
I have an issue. Whenever I hook the speaker wiring from the receiver to my amp, the volume is extremely low when I play audio and the receiver constantly shuts off and says ‘protection on’.
In this article we look at some of the practical ways of wiring four speakers to each amplifier left and right. For example, it is normal to have your main HiFi amplifier in the lounge room. It is also common to want to have some speakers in the family room, outside patio or pool area and in the workshop or garage.
If you need to connect just 2 pair of speakers to a HiFi stereo amplifier that is, 2 speakers to 1 amp , see my article on How to connect 2 speakers to 1 amplifier. I have had many people over the years tell me it is easy to connect multiple speakers — all you have to do is wire the speakers in series.
In the following diagrams I will only show the wiring for one side of a stereo amplifier, lets says the left side of the stereo. In reality this wiring needs to be duplicated for the right side speakers too. Four speakers wired in parallel This diagram shows how to wire four speakers in parallel. It is the same as wiring each speaker directly from the amplifier, like this: Wiring speakers in parallel is not a good way of connecting three, four or more HiFi speakers as it puts too much load on the amplifier as explained in earlier article Four speakers wired in series This diagram shows how to wire four speakers in series.
Again this is not a recommended way of wiring four speakers although it will work , nor is it very practical. Apart from the hassle of having to wire from one speaker to the next, if one wire is disconnected, then all speakers will stop working.
How to wire Four Speakers to One Amplifier
Most receivers have either preamp-in and preamp-out connections or tape monitor connections. In most cases, these are the best way to connect an equalizer to your stereo. Connecting to the tape monitor channels will require connection to only your receiver.

They added an amp just for one more pair of door speakers on the 4-door models?!? Hardwarz crowdogg , Hardwarz Is that a question, or just a re-enforcement of what I am saying, lol? Hardwarz mygreen98 , I say the denali specifically, with the bose speakers. None of the speakers are hooked to the factory head unit. I was able to find the rear speaker wires which were coming out of the factory amp under the dash and got those working.
My question is what color wires go to the front speakers? I installed a fuse tap on the stereo fuse in the drivers door fusebox, ran a wire from that tap to the orange wire on the amp, back door speakers work! Next I guess I’m gonna disconnec the harness from the amp, tap into the wiring so my deck can power the rear door speakers directly, I’m just going to get rid of the tailgate ones, they sound like crap. Now, the amp has a white harness on one end, the other end has a black one that doesnt seem to be going anywhere, what is that?
I picked up a tahoe limited about a year ago, and just got around to upgrading the stereo.

Not open for further replies. United States I got a Fisher x integrated tube amp a couple of months ago and I am having a hard time getting good sound out of both speakers at the same time. I do not have an owners manual or anything so I do not know what all of the speaker connections are for, and I am concerned that do not have my speakers plugged into the right connections. My problem is that I have good sound out of my left speaker and virtually nothing coming out of my right speaker.
But if I reverse it, I get okay sound out of the right speaker and no sound out of the left. I tried hooking up other speakers to see if the problem was in the speaker, but it was the same with the other set of speakers.

Just what is tone? What is a good tone and how do you achieve it? Which amps you should choose for your setup and how to get the tones you want. We also looked at the importance of choosing the right guitar — not only for your technique and rig but also for inspiration to play and create music. Check out part 1 and part 2. Amps People tend to prioritize guitars and a bunch of pedals and forget the importance of a good sounding amp.
Speakers are pretty easy to hook up to an amp, there’s really only one thing to remember, the polarity. Speakers need two wires to connect them to an amp (positive and negative; speakers are DC, not AC).
Hole for the panel mount audio jack 6. I have detailed this part of the process in each following photo, to be as clear as possible. Add Tip Step 5: Speakers and Bass Tube To cut these holes you will need: You need to cut a piece of scrap wood just long enough to fit in between the sides of the box see photo. This will keep the metal from vibrating violently during the cutting process.
Add Tip Ask Question Step 6: Cutting Holes Part 2: Plug, Audio Jack, and Screws In this step we will be cutting the holes for the electrical plug, audio jack and the screw holes for the speakers as well as the amp. Jigsaw with metal blade, drill with various sized bits, and a round file, I also used a deburring tool in this step. Add Tip Ask Question Step 7: Cut Up the Tripod! The little dollar store tripod will be cut up and used for the standoffs for the speaker covers in this step.

I’ve been using a set of Klipsch ProMedia 4. They still sound pretty good, the only problem being the scratching sound when changing the volume on the control pod, which I gather is a common problem with this unit. When I first bought them they were always connected to sounds cards that I bought for my various PC builds. On my most recent build I decided to skip the sound card and just hooked them to my motherboard’s onboard audio Realtek Azalia I believe.
Anyway, I recently upgraded my home theater receiver so now I have a fairly nice Denon receiver non-HDMI unfortunately just collecting dust. I was thinking about connecting it to my PC using the motherboard’s optical out port and then hooking up my Klipsch computer speakers to the Denon.
How to Connect 2 Speakers to 1 Amplifier. I have read your articles about connecting multiple speakers to one hi-fi amp. In my system I am trying to connect 6 Boss MR speakers (4 ohms) to my Sony STR-DH amp (w+w 8ohms). As you know, not being technically savvy I had no idea what to do or use. to hook up my TV, DVR, and VCR.
Contact Us Improving Stereo Performance of a Surround Sound Setup — Part 1 I hear and read of numerous reports from people with surround sound systems, that are not performing as well as desired for stereo music playback. Some are people who sold their old stereo setup, jumped on the surround sound band wagon, and now miss the musical qualities of their previous system.
Others have started out with a surround sound system, but underestimated how much music they play and now find their system lacking in this department. In both cases, people have fallen for the marketing hype that more channels is better, 5. So why do surround sound systems have such poor stereo performance compared to a stereo system? There are several reasons: All of which degrades and colours the sound.
One box mentality; with everything in a one box AV receiver, all the digital electronics crammed in can cause interference with the analogue circuitry. For many receivers all circuitry and amplification channels are powered using a single PSU see photo below, 6 , which can struggle at high loads and may not be able to provide the cleanest power to each component when everything is at full swing. As such these should be the best speakers you can afford. Cheaper speakers for the rear channels will be far less noticeable than cheaper speakers at the front.
Stereo Signal Path with an AV Receiver Before we consider options to improve stereo performance, it is beneficial to consider the signal path a stereo source has to go through when using an AV receiver.
